Education Reform

We stand for better, earlier, and universal education from the first years of learning.

This means the opportunity for accelerated learning, earlier schooling, and demanding the free access of our intellectual inheritance for the citizens of the world.

This means the Massive Online Open Course Movement (MOOC), ultimately eliminating student debt, and ending the obstacles towards accessing and building upon the collective knowledge of humanity.

Schools need to foster a love for learning by stimulating children's curiosity.

Defend Net Neutrality

Net neutrality is the principle that Internet service providers and governments should treat all data on the Internet equally, not discriminating or charging differentially by user, content, site, platform, application, type of attached equipment, and modes of communication.

A free and open internet is the single greatest technology of our culture, and control should not be at the mercy of corporations.

A free and open internet stimulates competition.

A free and open internet helps prevent unfair pricing practices.

Automation

A recent Oxford University study suggests 47% of today’s jobs are at high risk of being automated in the next two decades. Can we replace 66 million jobs?

Not only are we creating robots that are better and faster than humans at specific jobs, but we have robots that can replicate human motion and are getting smarter every day. The end result is that any repetitive task will be automated. Some jobs will be easier to automate than others, but the majority of jobs in the world do not require much creative thinking, and can be done very accurately by following a set of rules.

Technology companies are leading the path towards automation by producing more value with fewer employees. When Instagram, a popular photo-sharing site, was sold to Facebook for $1 billion in 2012, it had 30 million customers and 13 employees. Kodak, which filed for bankruptcy a few months earlier had 145,000 employees at its peak. Tesla only has 3,000 employees and is valued at over $25 billion. As more companies demonstrate they can create value through automation, it will be harder for non automated companies to compete.

Time = Money. And automation saves time. Business owners will do the math and invest in automated systems when they become profitable. How long will it be until automated systems replace jobs at fast food chains or stocking shelfs at supermarkets? What will happen when business owners can lease a robot at $200 per month? Will they still be willing to pay an employee a salary of $2,000 a month to do the same job?

We must work with machines and let them do the work for us. We must protect every citizen of the United States and ensure we all have our basic needs met.

Universal Basic Income

We establish disability but take the support away if an individual finds temporary work? We establish welfare and food stamps but hire whole bureaucracies to take it away?

We disincentivize working if we create a system of conditional aid.

We stand for international scientists without borders.

Science is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe.

Germ theory led to decreased transmission of infectious diseases, saving millions of lives. Electricity allowed us to create modern electronics, including electric lighting, television and electric heating. Radio waves help us communicate over long distances. Research in special and general relativity allowed us to build GPS.

Technology

We support research in emerging technologies.

Technology is the making, modification, usage, and knowledge of tools, machines, techniques, crafts, systems, and methods of organization, in order to solve a problem, improve a pre-existing solution to a problem, achieve a goal or perform a specific function.

Technology has increased our lifespan, pulled billions out of poverty and automated labor so more people can focus on creating, discovering and innovating.

Space

We fight for expanding the human presence of the cosmos, reducing existential risk, and becoming a multi-planetary civilization. This is a biological imperative for our species to survive; a moral, economic, and existential obligation of humanity.

Space exploration is the ongoing discovery and exploration of celestial structures in outer space by means of continuously evolving and growing space technology.

NASA-developed technologies have improved our medicine, transportation, public safety, consumer goods, environment and agriculture.
